I bought the teakettle to coordinate with the Pink Trio dinnerware. And, it does so very nicely. It has a very odd whistle. More like a train whistle (though not nearly as loud) than the normal sound a tea kettle makes. It's not an obnoxious sound, just not what you'd expect. The teakettle pours well - haven't filled it more than 3/4 full.
Corelle offers two teakettles in the Pink Trio pattern. This is the larger of the two, and I'd consider it an average size.
